Hunting Together Boxes: Ground Buffs and Hard Worker Boxes

Found a chest while hunting? Its type determines how you open it and what happens next: wooden buff boxes grant temporary boosts, Hard Worker Boxes support pet opening, and Halloween purple boxes can trigger a fight.

AT A GLANCE

Approach a wooden ground buff box and press E. Possible results include SPEED UP! for 3 minutes or POWER UP! for +10% attack damage for 3 minutes; both are not guaranteed from each box. If you already have Auto Open Boxes, enable it in the Pet window to open nearby Hard Worker Boxes. During Halloween, click purple dropped boxes for a chance at pumpkin currency or an event monster.

Ground Boxes: Identify and Open Them

Monsters can drop wooden buff boxes on the ground. To open one:

  1. Approach the brown wooden chest with gold trim and a glowing yellow latch.
  2. Press E when the open prompt appears.
  3. Read the buff notification and countdown to see which effect you received.

SPEED UP! helps you move between targets, while POWER UP! increases your attack damage. These are possible results; do not expect both from every opening.

The named golden Hard Worker Box also appears in the Grey Rhino hunting area. That is one place to encounter it, rather than an exclusive spawn location. For its pet-opening option, follow the steps below.

Enable Pet Opening for Hard Worker Boxes

If you already have the Auto Open Boxes pet skill available, your pet can open nearby Hard Worker Boxes for you.

  1. Open the Pet window.
  2. Turn the box-opening skill ON.
  3. Turn it OFF in the same window whenever you want to disable it.

Halloween Boxes and Pumpkin Spiders

During the Halloween event, the Halloween Hard Worker Box is associated with opening boxes and battling Pumpkin Spiders.

Ordinary monsters across hunting areas can also drop purple event boxes. Click one to open it: it may give pumpkin currency directly or summon an event monster. Be ready to fight before opening one. If a Pumpkin Spider appears, defeat it and collect its event drops, including Halloween Candy.
