Hunting Together Refining Guide: Blacksmiths and Early Beta Risks

Weapons and armor can be refined in Hunting Together. The early Beta weapon-refining system combines upgrade chances with a risk of losing refinement levels when an attempt fails.

AT A GLANCE

Find Gorrick outside the shop with the anvil sign in town for equipment refining. In the early Beta weapon system, open Refine, read the chance and failure penalty for your current refinement level, then use the yellow button to attempt an upgrade. Failures from +7, +6, and +5 each lower the weapon by one level. During early leveling, prioritize supplies, travel, and stronger equipment drops before spending Gold on refining.

Find Gorrick at the Anvil Shop

Visit Gorrick outside the shop marked with an anvil in town. Look for his name above the NPC wearing a dark apron. Weapons and armor can both be refined, and refinement can give equipment a glowing appearance.

In the early Beta map, the refining NPC is labeled Blacksmith and wears a red cap and red shirt beside an anvil and a glowing brick forge.

Use the Early Beta Refine Window

For weapon refining in the early Beta interface:

  1. Visit the Blacksmith and open Refine with a weapon to upgrade.
  2. Read the weapon’s current refinement level, the success chance for the next attempt, and the failure penalty.
  3. Click the yellow action button at the bottom of the window to attempt an upgrade.
  4. Check the result and updated refinement level before deciding whether to try again.

Early Beta Chances and Failure Downgrades

In the early Beta weapon-refining system, the displayed percentage applies to the next attempt from the weapon’s current refinement level.

Current refinement Next upgrade Success chance
+4 +4 → +5 90%
+5 +5 → +6 70%
+6 +6 → +7 40%
+7 +7 → +8 20%

Failures from +7, +6, and +5 each remove one refinement level. Consecutive failures can therefore take a +7 weapon through +6 and +5 back to +4, undoing several successful upgrades. Continuing after a failure means attempting the next upgrade from the newly reduced level.

Save Gold During Early Leveling

During early leveling, save Gold for supplies and travel before prioritizing refinement. Refining is optional for that stage; equipping stronger usable drops can improve damage and leveling efficiency without making upgrade attempts a requirement.

  • Reserve Gold for healing and SP supplies suited to your class and the warps you need.
  • Replace weaker gear with stronger equipment drops as you progress.
  • Consider refining later when you have equipment you intend to keep and can cover your regular hunting costs first. Gear you expect to replace soon is a lower priority for upgrade spending.
