AT A GLANCE
Find the Training Dummies beside the road near the town exit. Attack one with ordinary attacks or an upgraded skill, then read the nearby DPS and cumulative-damage display. Combat power appears beside the crossed-swords icon on your HUD; use it to track configuration changes, not as a direct measure of DPS.

Find the Training Dummies
- Follow the road toward the town exit. Look for the wooden Training Dummies on either side of the road.
- Approach a dummy and use ordinary attacks or a learned attack skill. Swordsman's Crushing Blow can be used for this.
- Watch the damage feedback and the nearby DPS and cumulative-damage display.
If a skill prompts you to upgrade it, open the Skill page and upgrade it before trying again. See the skill guide for upgrade controls and individual skill effects.
Read DPS, Total Damage, and Hit Feedback
| Feedback | What to use it for |
|---|---|
| Damage numbers | Inspect damage from individual hits. |
| DPS | Read the displayed damage-per-second rate while attacking. |
| Cumulative damage | Track the running damage total. Compare the increase over similar test durations. |
| Critical-hit and Double Hit! prompts | Recognize special hit feedback. Thief attacks can display Double Hit! during dummy combat. |
To compare two setups:
- Attack the same dummy with your current setup. Note the DPS, attack sequence, and cumulative damage before and after the sequence.
- Change one piece of equipment, stat allocation, or skill choice at a time.
- Repeat the same attack sequence for a similar duration. Compare the DPS readings and the additional total damage dealt—subtract the starting cumulative total from the ending total.
A single critical hit can make one damage number stand out. Judge repeated attacks alongside DPS instead of choosing a setup from its largest hit alone.
Use the equipment guide to compare gear attributes, or the stat allocation guide to apply and confirm point changes before testing.
Use Combat Power Alongside Attack Results
Find combat power beside the crossed-swords icon on your HUD. In the town HUD, it sits above the HP and SP bars at the lower left. Check this value when changing equipment, then use the dummy's attack readings to judge the resulting output. There is no fixed combat-power-to-DPS conversion to apply.
Temporary buffs also affect the comparison. For example, a Level 99 Thief setup using Fade increased from 16,293 to 18,293 combat power, a gain of 2,000 for that setup. Treat those numbers as a setup-specific example, not a fixed Fade bonus.
Keep buffs in the same state when comparing equipment or stat changes. If you want to measure a buff itself, compare your attacks before casting it with attacks while it is active, keeping the rest of the setup unchanged.
For a starting direction to test, use the stat and skill builds for all six classes.
